Vikings HOSED Again!
Referees or Packer's Ref's Blow it in Lameblow- Chris Hovan New Viking Hero!
By "Mookie Vike" Anderson

Each and every year, NFL officials seem to screw over the Vikes. Or so it seems. Ever since the infamous Drew Pearson push off in 1975, the Vikings fans have been heaving with anger toward the NFL zebras.

On Sunday Night, December 8th, 2002 at Lameblow Field in Green Gay, WI, the inevitable happened again! Minnesota got hosed! The Packer game was an embarrassment to the NFL, and to any Cheesedick who thinks their team actually deserved to win.

Five controversial calls went the Packers way in a close 26-22 win.First, in the 4th quarter with the Vikings leading, TE Jim Kleinsasser was interfered with/tackled on a third down pass, but no call.

Second, The Packers were flagged for an illegal hold on a Packer punt return, but after a conference, NFL Ref Walt Coleman picked up the flag and ruled no foul. WHAT? How can that be? Even ESPN announcer Joe Theismann cried foul play at that one.

Next, Brett "I am above the league, it can't touch me, I am God" Favre's 40 yard TD pass to Robert Ferguson really only covered 38 yards. True, the Vikings didn't appeal the call (because they had just been "bent over" on a previous thought to be fumble appeal) but Ferguson was clearly out of bounds short of the goal line. Of course, to their scandalous credit, the Lameblow officials didn't have to show the replay on the big screen to give the Vikings any reason or confirmation of the blown call. Kudos to the cheaters on that one.

The worse violation and must stunning of all blown calls was a questionable pass interference call on the Vikings safety Corey Chavous. The Vikings Jack Brewer had just picked off "Brett NFL" to seal the deal for the Vikings, but all of a sudden, the Ref pulled out his little hanky after the pick and called the interference on Chavous. This overturned the interception and allowed the Cheesedicks to finish a game winning drive. Some pass interference calls are blatant, but this was no worse than the non-call on Kleinsasser earlier (where's the consistency?).

Finally, With 11 seconds remaining in the game, Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper completed a 17-yard pass to receiver Chris Walsh in the middle of the field. With no one around him, Walsh knelt to end the play and give the Vikings a realistic shot at a Hail Mary pass from their own 43-yard line, but Packers defensive back Antuan Edwards pummeled Walsh. The NFL admitted Monday that Walsh should have been ruled down and not hit.

As an added bonus, a brawl breaks out between the teams due to the cheap shot on Walsh. Chris Hovan and Brett Favre exchange words with Bret ending the exchange with a Green Bay # 1 "F.U."symbol to Hovan's face. This brought on many Lameblow buckteeth idiots who promptly doused Hovan with their tall beers.

On Monday, Star and Tribune Columnist, Sid "My Good Friend" Hartman wrote that this game was the worst officiated he had ever seen!

On Wednesday, December 11th, in a confidential memorandum, the NFL acknowledged its officiating crew made at least nine mistakes during the game.

All in all, another fine example of screwing the Vikings.
